Les Jeudis de l’Été: a festive break in the heart of Vitré

Looking to enjoy the summer atmosphere in the Pays de Vitré? The unmissable “Jeudis de l’Été” (Summer Thursdays) are back in full force. Since 2004, this intergenerational event has transformed the town centre into a true open-air festival, perfect for gathering with family or friends.

This Thursday, August 13, 2026, the Place du Général de Gaulle will come alive starting in the afternoon. Sports enthusiasts and the curious can begin with a 10 km hike (storytelling walk) at 3:30 pm, departing from the Tourist Office. The evening will then take on a festive air with a concert by the band The Kokoz at 7:30 pm, which will bring Irish music to life at the foot of the station.

Throughout the evening, food lovers will be well catered for thanks to the presence of numerous local producers offering their goods. Children are not forgotten, with face painting workshops led by the association “Rue du Bonheur” and wooden games made available by the Ludothèque du Centre Social de Vitré.
